A Compromise...

Just a quick update regarding our fost/adopt journey:

We've been in continued talks with our foster agency since deciding to stop the fost/adopt process.  A decision which has been really hard for me.  I know that we need to be involved with foster children in some way, but seeing God's path has not been clear to both Alvin and I.  So after lots of prayers and many discussions, we decided on a compromise of sorts, which is to do respite care for the time being.  Respite care is basically providing relief to foster families.  We'll be called on to take a foster child for just a couple of days at a time.

I'm really excited about this, because we'll become certified just as foster parents are, and that keeps the door open for future opportunities.  Of course we've started a ton of home projects that need to be finished before we can become certified, but that gives us a time line to follow.  So, if all goes on schedule, we should be certified by the end of the year.

Very cool Lori. I look forward to hearing how God uses this.
